Last of this years Winter League took place today on a cold but sunny Macclesfield Canal. As is usual we were pestered by dog walkers, joggers, pedestrians and an occasional canal boat.
The majority of the hardy members arrived at 8.00am, however the Davies duo were delayed by oversleeping Neil, they finally arrived at 8.45am, which was just in time for the 'All-In' which was at 9.30am.
It was a tough day with the cool breeze blowing along the canal, but then this is the Winter League. At least everyone caught and we had no blankers! Frank drew the Golden Peg today, which put the mockers on it for him. The sound of the horn at 2.30pm signalling the end of the match was a relief for everyone.
Congratulations to Neil, Mike and James for getting 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively. However the match was between Phil and Alan as they were fighting it out for this year's Winter League trophy.Alan was the winner although only managing 7th place it was enough as Phil came in 10th place which wasn't quite enough.
Well done to everyone who fished the Winter series.
We now move on to the Spring League which kicks off in April, hope to see everyone there..
